Dear President Low,
Thank you very much for extending the kind invitation to Brenda and me to attend your 19th Anniversary dinner held on 21st May 2006. I am indeed very delighted to note that your club is very active, with good fellowship and the enthusiasms to serve and carry out the work of Rotary.
I am very touched and happy to say that the Rotaractors from your Club are very much involved with your Club activities, which is a very healthy sign of the partner in service or Family of Rotary. Please convey my regards and commendation to your IPP Michael Tan for the job well done as the Advisor to the Rotaractors, he has demonstrated his dedication and leadership in taking care of the Rotaractors.
As you are aware that from next Rotary year RI President Bill Boyd is very keen to see that the Family of Rotary is being carried out. "Extract of the Interview of Incoming RI.President Bill Boyd" You also feel strongly about the family of Rotary. What do you hope Rotarians will achieve in this area during your year? When Past President Jonathan Majiyagbe first began talking about the family of Rotary, there were many Rotarians who were not sure of what he meant. I think that now we understand that our Rotary family includes Rotaract, Interact, Inner Wheel, Rotary Community Corps, Probus, the alumni and alumnae of our Rotary Foundation, the staff of Rotary International, our own families, the widows and widowers of Rotarians, even those who actively partner with us in service activities. All of us who are working in the achievement of Rotary goals are members of the family of Rotary, and next year we will have a resource group to help us ensure that we do not leave anyone out.
The emphasis on caring equally for everyone in the Rotary Family .Youth programme such as Youth Exchange, Interact and Rotaract are vital to ensuring the health of Rotary's future. They also further Rotary's work by instilling the integrity tolerance and unselfishness in the next generation.
I am requesting that Rotarians at the club and district level help support Rotaract! If every Rotarian made a point of doing this, we would surely reach our goal this year of starting a new Rotaract club in every district. Club presidents can make a big difference in leading the way. Rotary will be a stronger and better organization if we can build a better bond between Rotary and Rotaract.
Incoming RI.President Bill Boyd believes that Rotaract will fuel the next membership wave of Rotary helping to move young members ever closer to Rotary's ideal of Service Above Self. "Rotaractors are our best and brightest," "They are our future leaders of Rotary and the world!" Furthermore we are going to have a good DRR in Chandra and we look forward to working with DRR
